INTERNET YAMI-ICHI BASEL
Organized by HeK (House of Electronic Arts - Basel - Switzerland)
Participation open to everybody
The Internet Yami-Ichi (Internet Black Market) is a free-to-attend flea market where people gather and exchange “internet-ish” things in real life. Originating in Tokyo, the Internet Yami-Ichi was founded by artist duo Exonemo and their “online art collective IDPW”. Since then Yami-Ichi markets have taken place in over ten cities worldwide including New York, Berlin, Tokyo, Brussels and Amsterdam – and now for the second time in Switzerland.
At our last market one could find self-printed spam postcards, Grumpy Cat dough figures and organ trafficking with beef hearts in the offline darknet. A black market with facebook likes developed spontaneously and the first “Best Ever Gold Standard Yami-Ichi Award” in form of a 3D-Print-Oscar-Cookie-Cutter was conferred. This year again, the booth with the most likes will receive the popular prize and the YouCube stage is open for your live streaming performances. #yamiichibasel
